Individual counseling can assist in a wide range of categories such as learning to incorporate regulation techniques when experiencing anxiety or in shifting our perspective when experiencing depression.
My role as a therapist is to assist you in working towards your goals by offering support and validation, as well as practical tools that will assist you in working towards achieving those goals.
Most of my training and experience has been in working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
What I have learned in each of the practice settings that I have worked in is that each person is unique and requires a slightly different approach.
This is part of the reason why I routinely check in with individuals that I work with in order to determine what is working and what is not working in the therapeutic relationship, and shifting my approach when needed towards your goals in individual counseling.
